This beautiful, ONE-OF-A-KIND masterpiece was created as a suggested visual idea for the original movie poster art, which Alvin ultimately created for the Adult Version campaign. This dazzling treasure was acquired by us directly from the much-missed artist who used to frequent our gallery in Burbank throughout the 1990s before moving to the east coast with his equally talented wife, Andrea Alvin.
Alvin created some of the most iconic poster campaigns in movie history, including E. THE EXTRATERRESTRIAL, BLAZING SADDLES, PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE, and many other memorable Disney campaigns including PINOCCHIO, ALADDIN and RESCUERS DOWN UNDER. For most of these campaigns, Alvin would create multiple designs for the marketing department to choose from. The artwork itself measures approximately 5 x 5" and comes housed in a beautifully crafted Gothic frame, perfectly sized and suited for the image, measuring 16-1/2" x 17-1/2. Condition overall is near mint, amazing considering its vintage origin, with the front exterior of the frame and glass all pristine, and only two very minor tears on the back Kraft paper covering that seals in the art and matte (one is 2-1/2", the other is 1/2"), both shown in the photos below and 100% unseen when displayed.
